R. KENTON NELSON

R. Kenton Nelson – (b. 1954) American, attended California State University and the Otis Parsons Art Institute, where he served on the faculty, as well as the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Mr. Nelson was raised in the Los Angeles area of Southern California with its distinctive architecture influencing much of his early works. Reminiscent of the great era of American scene painting and the WPA movement, his work captures the heroic quality of the American dream, underscoring the narrative with the suggestion of an unfolding story. Mr. Nelson's imagined world is one of perfect shadows, clear skies and an ambiguous sense of expectancy.
